In November 2012, FormPRO will bring the photo exhibition “Future-makers” to 3-4 different locations in Angola, among those the INEFOP entities “Pavilhão km 12” and the vocational training centre in Cazenga, as well as women groups in poor areas of Luanda (working with a German development worker). The exhibition is the result of an international photographers’ workshop held in Addis Abeba/Ethiopia in November 2011.
The objective to bring the photos to the vocational training centres and to the women groups is to take art to the people, in order to facilitate access to those persons who would normally not visit an art exhibition. We aim to open a discussion about the meaning of “future” in Angola.
The photos will be shown in public spaces, in each location for 1-2 days. Both the Angolan photographer Edson Chagas, whose work is part of the exhibition, as well as the German photographer Ralf Baecker, facilitator of the workshop “Future-makers” in Ethiopia, will be present in all locations to encourage (and document) discussions.
